Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization has directed that private sector workers not be given more than 2 hours of overtime per day. Under no circumstances should you work more than 144 hours in three weeks, including overtime. I.e. 48 hours per week.

When giving extra work, the basic pay should be calculated and the extra pay should be paid. The amount should be not less than 25 per cent of the basic salary.

If you work overtime on any day other than shopping malls, hotels, canteens and security establishments, work hours should be adjusted by giving less work on other days.

More pay for night work

If overtime is paid between 10 pm and 4 am, the additional pay is not less than 50 per cent of the normal wage. But those who work in rotation will not get the benefit.

If you have to work on a day off, you should take another day off. In this case too, overtime should not be less than 50 per cent of the basic salary. It was also suggested that the worker should not work without 2 days leave.
