Dubai police detain 3-month-old baby with mother in jail Dubai Naif Police have become symbols of human love. Dubai Naif police have taken action after a young woman requested that no one be trusted to look after her baby. The station’s victim support team was preparing to transfer the 3 – month – old baby to the women’s jail nursery with his mother. An African woman, the mother of a 3 – month – old baby, is being held in a Dubai jail on a felony charge.
“The mother approached one of our female police officers and told her she had no family members who could deliver the baby,” said Brigadier Dr Tariq Mohammad Noor Tahlak, director of the Naif police station. Then Brig. Within an hour of checking the identification documents in collaboration with Dubai Hospital, the Victim Support Team reunited the baby with his mother in jail. He later clarified that the baby and the mother were being housed together after the necessary facilities were set up for such cases.
Some inmates will be provided with such facilities as there will be no outside family to care for the child until the mother is sentenced. “When a prisoner arrives with his child, they undergo a number of medical examinations, and we ensure that all the child’s needs are met, including appropriate food, personal and health care equipment, and clothing, as well as the necessary vaccinations,” said Col. Jameela al-Sabi.
If the mother is psychologically healthy and able to care for the baby, they can live together in a women’s prison nursery building designated for mothers and their children. Colonel al-Zabi added that they will have all the facilities and services available there, including the medical care and examinations they need.
