Visa Scams: Expats Can Now Report Their Complaints Directly

Thiruvananthapuram: Residents can now directly report visa scam complaints to Thiruvananthapuram. Operation Shubhayatra has launched a 24-hour helpline and e-mail IDs. The project is being jointly implemented by the Kerala Police and Norka Pravasi Welfare. It also includes the State Government’s Expatriate Affairs Department. These guidelines are established by the Kerala Police.
Non-resident Malayalis will now be able to report any illegal recruitment to foreign countries or visa fraud directly.

Operation Shubhayathra For Visa Scams

After the discovery of visa fraud and other frauds from abroad, the Chief Minister Norka roots, the Protector of Emigration at the Ministry of External Affairs and Kerala Police called a joint meeting. Operation Shubhayatra was therefore implemented by the state government.
To prevent social media recruitment scams, the cyber wing is being used by the police. State Cell also serves as the Crime Branch IG Nodal officer. Under the supervision of the Nodal officer, all police districts have been equipped with anti-human trafficking units.

Intensive awareness programs are being implemented to combat illegal recruitment and visa fraud. Non-residents can also file complaints and pursue legal action through a comprehensive system.
NORCA Department, NORCA ROOTS and Indian Embassy are currently taking immediate measures to return those who have been forced to leave by human trafficking and fake recruitment. Based on confidential information regarding human trafficking at the airports and coasts, action is being taken.
