The new visa programs for UAE will take effect next month. The many new residency reforms that will be in effect from next month include a significantly expanded golden visa program, a five-year green residency, multiple-entry tourist visas, job hunting permits, and a significantly expanded golden visa scheme. These visas and permits are part of the most significant entry and residency reforms in the UAE.

This new system will greatly benefit visitors and expatriates living and working in UAE. This will make Emirates more attractive to foreigners and individuals with high net worth who are looking for a long-term investment.

All these new regulations relating to entry and residency will be in effect for 90 days from the publication date in the Official Gazette, according to the UAE Cabinet decision. Below is a list of visas that were announced in April. They will all be in force by the end of April, while some have been introduced before that date.

Different Visas In UAE

Multi-entry tourist visa: This new 5-year multi-entry visa allows an individual to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days without the need for a sponsor. It is also possible to extend the visa for an additional 90 days. This tourist visa allows a person to stay in the UAE for up to 180 days. The applicant must have $4,000 (Dh14.700) in a bank account within six months of applying.

Entrepreneurs and investors can apply for a Business Visa without the need of a sponsor or host. Visa for Visiting Friends/Relatives: This visa is available to foreigners who are relatives or friends of UAE citizens or residents. The visa does not require a sponsor.

Temporary Work Visa: This visa is for those who are on a temporary assignment, such as project-based or probation testing. The candidate must submit a letter from their employer or a temporary employment contract, as well as proof of fitness.

Visa for Study/Training: This visa is intended for students or people who wish to take part in training, study courses, or internship programs. This visa is available to be sponsored by both public and private research and educational institutions. The institution must send a letter describing the details of the program, such as the duration and the length.

Family Visa: Parents could not sponsor children under 18 years old previously. Male children can now be sponsored up to 25 years old. For an indefinite period, sponsored daughters may be sponsored by unmarried mothers and disabled children.

This visa is for job seekers who are looking to work in the UAE. This visa is not required to be sponsored or hosted and is available to holders of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from one of the top 500 universities in the world. It also applies to those who are skill level 1, 2, or 3, as determined by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Green Visa: This visa is valid for five years and allows the holder to bring their family members without the need of a sponsor. This visa is for skilled workers, self-employed, freelancers, and others. Additional requirements include a bachelor’s or equivalent degree and a minimum of Dh15,000.

Golden Visas: Many professionals and investors want to take advantage of the UAE’s exceptional quality of life over the long term. Below is a list of Golden Visas available for various categories.

Real estate: To be eligible for the visa, you must invest at least AED 2,000,000 in real property. If their total investment exceeds AED 2,000,000, investors can buy off-plan and mortgage property.
Entrepreneurs: Startups are now eligible for a golden visa. They must first be registered in the country and then be classified as SMEs.

Scientists: Recommendation of the Emirates Science Council, Ph.D., Master’s degree from an elite university in Life Science or Natural Science Technology, Engineering. If they meet these requirements, people with expertise can apply for a Golden Visa.

Golden Visa for exceptional talent: This visa is available to people with extraordinary talent in the arts, law, digital technology, sport, medicine, or culture. They will need to submit a letter of recommendation from the relevant government agency.

Skilled workers: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have a valid employment agreement. They also need to be in one or two of the occupational levels defined by the UAE Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation and earn a minimum monthly salary of AED 30,000.
