It was announced Wednesday that non-essential employees who work in areas affected in rains or floods in the UAE would be allowed to work remotely from Thursday through Friday. The UAE Cabinet instructed all federal departments to make necessary arrangements. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization issued the same notice for private sector establishments.
The Ministry stressed that essential employees must not travel for more than a few hours between their workplaces and home. It said that this is to be in the best interest of all parties, even in “exceptional emergencies”.
Decision Upon Heavy Rains
This decision was made as the country experienced heavy rains in the Emirates. It excludes federal agencies dealing with civil defense, police, and security that deal with crises, disasters, and emergencies. Vice-President and Prime Minster of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered mobilization of emergency and relief teams in Dubai in support of rescue operations in Fujairah, and other areas of the country affected by heavy rains today. https://t.me/newsgulf
