The new airports are being constructed as part of the ongoing projects aimed at the comprehensive development of the country’s transport system. 


Riyadh: New airports are being built in Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The state-of-the-art airports can handle up to 100 million passengers a year. The project aims at the growth of the tourism sector and the creation of many jobs. 

The new airports are being constructed as part of the ongoing projects aimed at the comprehensive development of the country’s transport system. Abdul Aziz al-Du’aliz, president of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), said that the initial steps to build new airports in the major cities of Riyadh and Jeddah had begun. 

The announcement was made by the Gaka President at the Aviation Forum in Riyadh. The project aims at the development of the tourism sector and a number of employment opportunities. In addition, it aims to triple the aviation sector’s GDP growth to three times the current level.
