Online applications for visas
1. Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security – ICP
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security manages visas issued in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain. Online applications for visas can be made through the ICP website at icp.gov.ae, or via the smartphone app ‘UAEICP, which is available for both Apple devices and Android.

ICP also issues tourist visas for the Emirates. Online applications are possible for either a five-year tourist visa or a regular 30-90 days tourist visa.
Apply Online for a Visa – The Documents You Need
- No matter what platform you use (website, app), you will need to have digital copies of certain documents with you to complete the application process quickly. These documents include:
- 1. Passport copy of the sponsor and sponsored
- 2. Photo of the sponsor
- 3. Emirates ID of the Sponsor
- 4. Ejari (might be required for a tourist visa).
- 5. Documents such as a marriage certificate or birth certificate must be duly attested. To apply for a Golden Visa or family visa, you may be required to submit your labor contract or salary certificate.
2. General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai
You can apply online for a Dubai tourist, residence, or employment visa through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (gdrfad.gov.ae). You will need to make sure you have all the necessary documents when applying for a visa online.
3. DubaiNow app
GDRFA Dubai allows individuals to apply for visas through the Dubainow app, which is the official app that provides all government-related services in Dubai.
4. Websites of airlines
You can apply for a tourist visa if you’re planning on visiting the UAE by booking your flight through Emirates or Etihad. Each airline has its requirements that must be fulfilled before your visa can be granted. Flying with them is one of these conditions. You can inquire about a visa when you book your flight.
Online application for a visa
Online applications are not possible for everyone. However, you can still apply for visas in person at certain locations. These options include:
1. Typing centers
The UAE has several authorized typing centers that can process visa applications from individuals or establishments. You only need to visit a typing center with all the documents required and pay the fee for the visa. The typing center will handle the entire process. You will need to pay an additional fee if you go through a typing center.
2. Amer Centre
Dubai’s GDRFA processes immigration applications through Amer centers. You can apply to an Amer center near you if you have a Dubai visa and want to sponsor your family.
3. Travel agencies
If you buy the ticket through them, licensed travel agents in Dubai can arrange a tourist visa.
