Doha: More than 70 million passengers are expected to pass through Qatar’s airports in the FIFA World Cup. The FIFA World Cup runs November 21 through December 18. It is estimated that there are more than 70 lakh people who arrive, depart, and transit November-December.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority’s Department of Air Transport has released a report detailing the expected number of passengers during the World Cup. World Cup visitors arrive at Hamad International Airport and Doha International airports. The airports will receive around 28,000 passengers and chartered flights.
The World Cup will see a significant rise in shuttle and charter services between Qatar’s airports and those in the Gulf Cooperation Council. This year, the country’s airports will be carrying 3.4 million passengers, including World Cup visitors.
