Dubai: Three women from Dubai, one mother and two daughters, were sentenced to prison for trying to sell their baby online. They were trying to sell their baby online for Dh12,000, when they were caught. Three Asian women from different nationalities were sentenced to prison by the court. They were notified by social media users and police arrested them. They were in the country. The incident occurred in February 2021. The mother of the child, who is less then two months old, posted a social media advertisement expressing her desire to sell the baby.

The woman police officer approached all the suspects in the case and said that she was interested to buy the child. The mother was not the only one who was arrested. A second woman, who also agreed to take the baby from her mother, and another woman who arrived in Jumeirah to pick it up were also taken into custody.

During interrogation, they admitted that the child was the result of an illicit relationship. The mother stated that she was willing to sell her child for money. Yesterday, the Dubai Criminal Court sentenced them to between two and three years imprisonment. After they have completed their sentences, they will be deported. The baby will be placed with special childcare.
