DUBAI: Dubai police arrested a young man who was driving a quad bike (or buggy) on the desert road and at the beach. The 21-year-old Gulf national was taken into custody. According to police, he didn’t have a driver’s license.

After he fell from a vehicle, he drove a buggy and was seen performing dangerous stunts. He was then captured by police being egged on. The fall resulted in injuries to the young man. Col. Rashid Mohammed Salih Al Shehi was the acting director at Bur Dubai Police Station. He said that he was on a quad bike unlicensed.

It’s a crime to drown

He was charged with reckless driving and fleeing an accident. For further legal action, he has been referred by the Public Prosecution. He appealed to the general public to not share videos that adversely affect youth.

Colonel al-Shehi stated that careless drivers and violations should be reported directly to 901 or via the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police App. The youth’s arrest is intended to send a clear message about the police to the community. Road users and the community are at risk of being violated by the police. He said that these violations are dangerous to the safety of road users and infringe on traffic rules and regulations.
