Doha: As part of preparations to the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, the Indian national football team was received warmly at Hamad International Airport in Doha. The Indian Sports Center (ISC), which is the highest body of the Indian Embassy and the Yellow Wing Qatar Wing hosted the reception.
Malayalee players Sahal Abdul Samad Samaan and Aashiq Kuruniyan are also part of the 25-member team that arrived to Doha. Sippy Jose, a member of the ISC Advisory Board, and Deepesh Govindankutty, a representative for Yellow Jackets presented gifts to Igor Stimoch, Indian team captain and coach. The reception team included Adhina, Jose Francis, Faris MN and Simsa, Yellow Wing Qatar Wing officials, as well as Faris MN and Simsa, Irshad Iqbal.
The friendly match between India & Jordan will take place at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, Qatar Sports Club on the 28th. This friendly is part the preparations for AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Kolkata starting June 8.
