Doha: Chief General of the US Central Command (Centcom), Eric Kuril, has stated that the defense, security, and military partnership between Qatari and the US are crucial for regional security. Eric Kurilla stated that Qatar’s recent non-NATO status as an ally would strengthen relations between the United States and Qatar.

Non-NATO status allows for access to technology, military training, and operations. The year-long training program with the Qatar Armed Forces will be beneficial to both countries, allowing them to concentrate on air defense and border security. US$ 980 billion was spent on the foreign military sales program with Qatar.
