UAE Federal Government announces Eid al-Fitr holiday for employees. According to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Ramadan is a holiday from the 29th to the 3rd of Shawwal. Therefore, the holidays are from Saturday, April 30 to Wednesday, May 4. The UAE Lunar Visitation Committee will meet to confirm the official start date of Eid. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the month following Ramadan in the Hijri calendar. According to astronomical estimates, this year’s Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on May 2.
According to the UAE’s official holiday schedule, residents will have Eid al – Fitr from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. If Ramadan lasts 29 days, residents will get four days off and if the holy month lasts 30 days, they will get five days off. As Ramadan 2022 is likely to last 30 days, residents may be able to enjoy a five-day holiday.
