Luxurious features in Lusail Stadium

The stadium’s sustainability features, such as the roof and water-efficient fixtures led to the award. The stadium’s roof is made from locally produced PTFE, which can protect it from dust and hot winds. It is designed to let enough light into the pitch for it to grow and provide shade to reduce the need for air conditioners.

The stadium’s design features include the interweaving light and shadow. This is a reflection of the golden age in arts and crafts in the Arab or Islamic world. The gallery arrangement is such that light and shadow reach the seats in accordance with the exterior design. The stadium will be home to 10 matches in the FIFA World Cup which runs from November 20 through December 18.
