Dubai: The UAE was stricken with dust early Wednesday morning, prompting warnings for motorists. According to the National Center of Meteorology, skies across the UAE look dusty. To warn residents of the dusty conditions, NCM issued yellow, amber, and red alerts.
Expect strong winds to blow at speeds of between 15 and 25 km/h. At times, they can reach 40 km/h. Winds are likely to blow dust and sand in the air, particularly during the day. This will reduce horizontal visibility. Expect dusty conditions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Sharjah as well as Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah and Sharjah.
The dust impeded visibility up to 1500m, so drivers should be cautious. People with allergies should take extra precautions when they go outside. Maximum humidity is expected at 85 percent. Some coastal areas will experience humid conditions on Thursday morning and night. Average temperatures will be in the 30s, with maximum temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius.
Dubai currently has 37 degrees Celsius with mostly sunny skies. According to the NCM, the sea will be “rough” this week, so you may want to reconsider your plans. These conditions are expected to continue until Friday in Oman Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
