Labor dispute: Wages to be paid during the pendency of the case

Dubai: Workers who are involved in labor dispute cases before the courts have been ordered to receive 2 months wages to cover living expenses. During the pendency, the employer is responsible for paying wages. If there is a dispute between the worker and the sponsor, the complaint should be submitted to the Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization. The Ministry will attempt to resolve such complaints in the first instance.

Labor dispute Case will forward to court

If there is no agreement within 14 days of the filing of the complaint, the case files are forwarded to the appropriate courts for final disposition. Along with brief documents about the labor dispute, the case will be referred to court.

The case file will include the complaint of each party, evidence, and recommendations of the Ministry. The ministry will handle matters such as visa changes for workers involved in the case that has been transferred to the court. The country’s Labor Minister has sole authority to make decisions about the workers and establishments in the case. To ensure that workers are not left behind, it is recommended to pay two months’ salary. The ministry should exert pressure on employers to do this. Minister officials reminded workers that they have the right to file complaints in cases of labor disputes.
