During the first 15 days of Ramadan, there were 5,959 road accidents in Kuwait, with an average of 400 per day. Al-Rai reported 3,034 accidents before the end of the fast and 2,925 after Iftar.

Traffic control department captain Khalid Abdullah al-Frih reminded all motorists to wear seat belts, not to use mobile phones while driving, and not to drive at excessive speeds, especially before the Maghrib prayers.

Al-Frih said more than 836 security cameras and mobile devices have been installed to monitor roads across the country.
