The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has closed a popular restaurant in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Al-Ibrahimi Restaurant has been closed for health and safety violations.
The authority has ordered the closure of Al Ibrahimi Restaurant on Zayed The First Street for failing to rectify health care violations despite multiple warnings. The restaurant was reported to have failed to meet temperature standards for food safety as it could cause food spoilage and unpleasant odors in the surrounding areas, and low levels of hygiene and the widespread presence of insects in food handling areas and storage areas.
The public can contact the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Center on 800555 to report such incidents. Al Ibrahimi has two other branches in Abu Dhabi. This particular branch was closed in 2011 for food safety violations. The closure will continue until the violations are rectified, the authority said in a statement. Once they are resolved, Adafsa will re-inspect the restaurant before allowing it to reopen.
