Dubai: Dubai authorities are taking action against fake taxis again. In collaboration with the Jebel Ali Police Station, the Road Transport Authority (RTA), and the Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring Unit launched a campaign to combat counterfeit taxis. The vehicle will be confiscated and fined for violators.

Two main areas are the focus of the campaign. Unlicensed vehicles that are used for transporting people are one of them. These vehicles are used to transport people and have no other connection than the payment. This vehicle can travel within Dubai as well as between Dubai and other emirates. The second is the campaign to stop the promotion of such services via social media or directly. Saeed al-Balushi (director of the Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring Division of the Public Transport Agency) said that the move was in accordance with the Executive Council’s decision.

Sites are identified by using business intelligence and data analysis to identify violations. The sites that had the most violations in 2021 were identified. Al Balushi stated that 10 sites similar to those found in 2019-20 were discovered in three locations.

Found in Jebel Ali

In collaboration with the Jebel Ali police station, an inspection was conducted last month and found 38 violations. 25 of these violations were for vehicles that weren’t licensed. For such events, there are 14 offences. 41 vehicles were seized. The offenders chose Jabal Ali to travel to work and home. Al-Balushi stated that violators would face heavy fines. https://www.dubaitaxi.ae/
