Government of Kerala launches expat health insurance scheme for just Rs 550 Norka Roots Health Insurance is for expatriates and their families living abroad. It will be implemented under the name Pravasi Raksha Insurance Scheme.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that health care is one of the major problems facing the expat community and the project is being implemented keeping that in mind. The government is implementing various schemes for the welfare of the expat community. The Chief Minister requested all expatriates to avail the benefits of Pravasi Raksha Insurance.
The premium is Rs 550 per year. Diseases can be covered up to Rs 1 lakh. Expatriates between the ages of eighteen and sixty and those living abroad with them will be covered under the scheme. The scheme is being implemented in collaboration with New India Assurance . Fees can also be paid online.
