Abu Dhabi: Ex-pats must update their Emirates ID cards upon marriage. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security announced that UAE expatriates must update or renew their Emirates ID cards upon marriage.

This applies to spouses who have changed their surnames after marriage. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has announced that the concerned person must visit the customer service center of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security and present all necessary documents to update and renew the Emirates ID cards and population register programs.

Update Emirate ID

The ICP also pointed out that UAE residents do not have to contact them within a certain time frame from the 15th birthday of their children. This is because of the requirement to update when residency is renewed.

However, Emiratis or Gulf nationals must update their data in the Population Register Program (ID card) within 30 days of the date that the child turns 15 years old. To do this, one must visit an ICP customer support center to apply for fingerprinting and update all data. Follow Us On Linkedin
