Although the epicenter was located below the Pacific Ocean floor in Hawaii, no tsunami alert was issued. Many people shared their experiences on social media, claiming that they felt tremors more than usual.

In areas inhabited Malayalees, buildings were reported to have been shaken. Local residents claimed that their belongings were being moved around. The National Geological Survey stated that there had been no panic or damage. Adarsh George, a Thiruvananthapuram native, reported feeling the tremors early in the morning.

The light tremor lasted six to seven seconds. Iran was shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale. According to the UAE National Weather Service, Iran was struck by a magnitude 7.37 earthquake. The authority stated that residents in the UAE were not affected by the earthquake but that no one was hurt. According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, (EMSC), the epicenter was located at 8 km below Earth’s surface.
