Dubai: The six-month-long Dubai Expo 2020, which started on October 1 last year, will conclude on March 31, 2020. 182 The organizers have made all the preparations to prepare a beautiful closing ceremony for the two-day unparalleled celebrations. The closing ceremony will take place on October 1 at the same Al Wasl Plaza where the opening ceremony took place.
More than 20 giant screens to watch closing events
World-renowned musicians such as Clistina Aguilera, Nora Jones and Yoyo Ma will grace the occasion. In addition to the main stage, there are more than 20 large screens in different parts of the Expo venue, including the Festival Garden and the pavilions of different countries. There will also be concerts on the Jubilee Stage and the Dubai Millennium Amphitheater, which will run until 3 p.m. A huge fireworks display and laser show will be held in the skies of Dubai, spreading the colorful wonders of the future.
Closing ceremonies from 7 pm.
Closing ceremonies will begin at 7 pm under the Al Wasl Dome. Hundreds of children from different parts of the UAE lined up for the beautiful ceremony which will prepare an amazing portrayal of the country’s growth into a new vicissitude of growth. The expo will conclude with the Golden Jubilee celebrations, a journey through the development of the country for the next fifty years.
Expo city music will be concentrated
It will be followed by a concert by Grammy Award winner Yoyo Ma at 8.45 pm at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheater. The award-winning Nora Jones concert will also take place on the Jubilee Stage at 9 p.m. After that, the concert of pop star Christina Aguilera will be held here till 10.45 pm. About 400 professionals and volunteers from 56 countries will perform at the closing ceremony. Forty children from the UAE will sing the national anthem Aishi Biladi. The Firdaus Orchestra of Women, led by Yasmina Sabah, will also perform as part of the event.
Now to the 2025 Expo
The event will also feature the Expo 2020 World String Ensemble event featuring 16 world-renowned musicians led by music emperor Harrot Faslian and Italian pianist Elenora Constantini. Expo Commissioner and Minister Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan will hand over the Expo flag to the President of the General Assembly of the Bureau of the International Expo. As he hands over the flag to 2025 Expo representative Osaka Kansai, the curtain will fall on the closing ceremonies and Expo 2020, accompanied by fireworks.
The fair was visited by over two crore people
The number of visitors to the six-month-long expo has already crossed two crore. Considering the end of the fair, it is now experiencing an influx of visitors. The visiting hours of the pavilions have been extended to 11 pm daily to accommodate them. Visitors were able to enjoy many activities from the queue for more than four hours last day. Organizers estimate that millions of people will flock in the next four days.
The expo venue will become a smart city
Instead of leaving the venue after the Expo, Dubai authorities plan to turn it into a smart city. In the District 2020 region, 85 startups and small enterprises from 27 countries, including India, will be operational by the last quarter of this year. The entrepreneurs were selected by a panel of experts from a shortlist of 628 applicants as part of the ‘Skyle to Dubai’ project. The plan is to select certain entrepreneurs here every year. Entrepreneurs will be given a two-year rental rebate, along with a simplification of visa procedures and subsidies for various services. There will also be direct access to the international market.
