Dubai: Dubai Roads and Transport Authority announced that 38.102 permits (Dubai E-scooter Permits) were issued within three months to permit the driving of e-scooters in Dubai. 8006 of these permits are Indians. The website had received permits from 149 countries, including India. 15,502 permits were issued to Filipinos, which is the highest number. Pakistanis: 3840. 11.206 permit holders (29%) were tourists to Dubai.
Between the ages of 30 and 40, a total of 15,807 permits were issued. Close behind are the 20-30-year olds who received 14,576 permits. For those under 20, 1,570 permits were issued. Officials stated that the figures were a result of the RTA’s efforts to encourage visitors and ex-pats to use e–scooters for personal travel short distances.
Dubai launched an online registration platform for free to obtain an e-scooter license. To receive a free permit, you must complete an awareness course through the RTA’s site. The law states that trainees must be at least 16 years old. The course covers the technical specifications and standards for e-scooters as well as the responsibilities of riders and the emirates that allow e-scooters.
It also allows the identification of traffic signs and other relevant symbols. It is not necessary to get a scooter permit for other streets, such as RTA-designated footpaths or cycling tracks. The course is exempt for those with valid driving licenses or international driving permits. Follow Us oN Facebook
