Dubai: The protest of the delivery staff in Dubai was successful. The company said it was withdrawing from the decision. A group of delivery workers have gone on strike in Dubai in protest of a company’s cut in delivery fees. The strike was called by workers at the Delivery Company. Following the protests, the management decided to withdraw from the decision.
Drop fees are the rate paid to bike riders for each delivery. The company had decided to reduce this from 10.25 dirhams to 8.75 dirhams. The company also decided to increase working hours to 14 hours.

The reason for this is said to be that employees can generate more revenue. At present, delivery staff work 12 hours a day in two shifts of six hours each. Employees protesting the decision organized on Labor Day to stop accepting the company’s delivery orders on the mobile app. As soon as the order arrived on time, the company began to receive customer complaints. Social media was full of news and reactions about this. The company withdrew from the decision after its operations came to a standstill.
