Doha: The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani met with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Crown Prince Charles. He discussed bilateral cooperation with Qatar as well as issues of mutual interest with Prince Charles during his meeting at the Clarence Palace, London. He met with Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street, London’s Prime Minister’s Office to discuss the friendship between Qatari and the UK as well as ways to strengthen ties across many fields including energy and politics.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom thanked Emir for allowing British citizens to be evacuated from Afghanistan. A number of bilateral opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties were also discussed. The meeting was also attended by the Emir’s delegation. After the meeting and discussions, the Prime Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Investment Partnership between Qatar Energy and British Ministry of Business Strategy Industrial and Energy. This will strengthen cooperation in the sector of energy.
At the London residence of the Emir, he also met Pretty Patel, UK Home Secretary. This visit to the UK is part a European tour. After attending yesterday’s World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), Amir arrived in the UK. As part of his European tour, the Emir will also visit France.
