Jeddah: If parents are permanent residents of Saudi Arabia the visitor visas of minors under 18 years can be converted into ‘Resident Identification’ (Iqama) according to the General Directorate of Passports.

Parents Family Visa Can’t Extended More than six Months

According to the Passport Authority, the Iqama period for the parent does not bar the extension of the visitor visa. However, the family visit visa cannot be extended for more than six months. It has been noted that fines may be levied for visitor visa extensions that are extended after the expiration date. After three days after the visitor visa expiry date, penalties will be levied.
