Riyadh: Amnesty for prisoners in Saudi Arabia has begun. It will benefit those who are not involved in criminal activities. This year’s amnesty is the culmination of an annual amnesty by King Salman of Saudi Arabia. The Home Ministry has announced the necessary conditions and norms for this.
Prisoners who are not involved in 36 types of crimes are eligible for amnesty. Amnesty will not be granted to those convicted of murder, rape, sexual assault, blasphemy, blasphemy, insult to the Qur’an, crimes affecting national security, terrorism, treason, serious military crimes, torture of children and children with disabilities, and drug trafficking.
The government has announced the terms and conditions of an annual amnesty for prisoners in Saudi prisons. Those convicted for a term of two years and less, and those who have served more than two years and completed a quarter of the sentence are eligible for the benefit.
