Doha: Saudi citizen Abdullah Al Salami, along with the World Cup football excitement, walked 1600 km to Qatar. This was a sign of friendship between the two countries. Qatar also welcomed salami with open arms. Al Salami finished his walk by reaching the Flag Plaza on Doha Corniche, where the Saudi Arabian national flag is displayed. Al Salami, who was on foot to fuel World Cup spirit, received a warm reception by Qatar at Doha Corniche.

It took 55 days to travel 1600 km from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to reach Qatar. Al Salami made it to Abu Samra, the border crossing between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He then walked the Doha Corniche. Al Salami was warmly received by the people as he traveled from Abu Samra, Qatar to Doha. Many people rallied around Al Salami by sending flowers and food. Al Salami said that he was amazed by the support and reception.

Al Salami stated that the reason he decided to travel to Qatar by foot was because he thought Saudi Arabia would adopt a different way to view the Saudi match in the FIFA World Cup. This should be a sign of brotherly relations and unity with Qatar. Al Salami was accompanied on his trip by the flags of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Al Salami posted every detail of his 55-day journey through the desert on Instagram. The football world joined him in supporting him. On 22nd, the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia will take place at Lusail Stadium.
