Abu Dhabi Highway: Major Roads In Abu Dhabi Are Closed

Abu Dhabi’s major roads are temporarily closed. The transport regulator of the emirate announced several road closures starting yesterday, Friday, August 19. The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the partial closing of the road via social media.

The right-hand lanes that lead to Yas Island, on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road on Saadiyat Island, will be closed at 10pm on Friday, August 19, and 5am on Monday August 22. The lanes will reopen shortly after, but the right lane will remain closed for vehicular traffic until 5 AM on Tuesday, August 23rd. The left lane of Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road (E22), which runs along Al Ghanadeer Street, and Banias West, is currently closed. It will close from 10pm on Friday, August 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, August 22.

Traffic Jams In Major Roads Of Abu dhabi

Major roads in the city will also partially close. From Friday, 19 August at 11pm, the right lanes of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street between Zayed First Street & Al Mouqib Street will be closed in both directions. This will take place from Friday, 26 August at 11pm. Traffic jams have already been caused by this closure. This is an area that is very busy in Abu Dhabi. Drivers might consider alternative routes.

From 12am on Saturday, 20 August, to 5am Monday, 22 August, both right-hand lanes on Al Batheen Street from Al Falah Street and Corniche Street will be closed to traffic. ITC advised motorists that they drive cautiously and adhere to traffic regulations. Officials advised that detours should not be made and that alternative routes should be explored.
