Doha: Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, has stated that 500 million people around the world are likely to view World Cup football on TV. He was in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum. 350 million viewers tuned in to television to see the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The eagerly awaited FIFA World Cup will be held at eight stadiums in Qatar from November 21 through December 18. The country’s organizer, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (a local organizer), had earlier stated that 1.5 million people were expected to attend the tournament. In the first phase, the World Cup bookings in Qatar reached 1.7 million and the second phase at 2.35 crore.
The Supreme Committee has made arrangements for accommodation for those who are visiting Qatar to view the World Cup. These include apartments, villas or vacation homes, hotels, floating and hotel hotels, luxury ships, tents or Arab tents.
