Abu Dhabi – The Etihad national rail project has reached Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. A video was posted by the manufacturers on social media showing the progress of construction of Etihad Rail, with Jabal Ali and the Dubai Metro Bridge as backdrops.
The drones captured an aerial view of construction progress. Passengers will be able use both trains if the Etihad train which runs near the Jabal Ali metro stations becomes a reality. It will also make freight easier. Last month, Etihad Rail released footage from the construction of Fujairah’s tallest railway bridge. The construction of the 600-meter high bridge in Al Bitna continues. You can see farms and cities from the air as you travel through the Hajj hills.
Officials indicated that Etihad Rail could play an important role in facilitating freight and travel in the UAE. Fujairah can be reached from Abu Dhabi in about 100 minutes. The 1,200-kilometer route runs from Guwaifat, on the western Saudi-UAE frontier to Oman to the east. From Abu Dhabi to Dubai, and Dubai to Fujairah takes approximately 50 minutes. The Etihad Rail is a safe, convenient and fast way to bring people and cities closer together. It travels at a speed of 200 km per hour.
A passenger train can transport up to 400 people. It connects 11 cities and areas across the UAE. The travel service will be launched in 2024. The distance between the Gulf countries and the UAE will be reduced by the Etihad Rail connecting with the GCC Rail. https://www.etihadrail.ae/
